Count Arthur Strong’s Radio Show! – Series 7
Count Arthur Strong’s Radio Show! The Complete Seventh Series was broadcast on BBC Radio4 in Feb/March 2012 and released 17th March 2014 as a 3xCD pack and digital download
“Now on his seventh series, Steve Delaney’s joyous creation… is just as deliriously funny as when he first emerged blinking into the modern world in 2005” The Mail on Sunday
Since it first aired in 2005, Count Arthur Strong’s Radio Show! has become a mainstay of Radio 4 comedy output. In 2009 it won the Sony Award for Best Radio Comedy. Due to the recent success of the Count Arthur Strong BBC2 TV show, being nominated for three British Comedy Awards, series seven is the final outing of the character in the original radio sitcom.
In this series he gets his ancient Hillman Minx back on the road, with or without Terry Wogan as a passenger and is invited to Spain to run his old friend’s Cabaret Bar. What could possibly go wrong?
‘His malapropisms and tongue-slips, his creator Steve Delaney’s joy in language, is really what keeps me laughing. His show still has more gags per minute … and that’s why I love it.’ The Observer
Arthur is supported by his regular sidekicks: Master Butcher – Wilf Taylor, Café Owner – Gerry, Sally his long suffering friend and his protégé Malcolm De Tinsel.
